Last Wednesday, while most Barcelona residents were sleepily heading to the office for another day of work, I was headed to Calella de Palafrugell and Llafranc with my friends from Gracia Work Center and Coworking Gracia. This spontaneous trip was the perfect mid-week break and bonding opportunity between coworkers.
We rented a little boat in llafranc and explored Calella de Palafrugell. We swam in the beautiful Mediterranean sea where I noticed the water to be much brighter than the beaches in Barcelona. We even explored areas that would have been inaccessible by car. Luckily I brought along my waterproof Gopro camera to capture the memories!
After the boat ride and swimming, I was exhausted. Laid out on the beach, I took the most peaceful nap. About an hour later, my new coworking friends woke me up because it was time to eat. We shared a large variety of tapas at the traditional restaurant, Mas Olivé. Although we were stuffed from the delicious meal, we enjoyed coffee and conversation at a hotel café that overlooked the town. Finally we returned to our cars, but it wasn't time to leave yet. No day is complete without Gelato! As I wandered the street along the beach enjoying my mango gelato, I couldn’t help but think about how grateful I am to intern with such a fun and relaxed group.
I came back to work on Thursday feeling relaxed and refreshed. I believe that a trip to the beach in the middle of the week is a great opportunity for bonding and boosting creativity. This is what makes an internship at a coworking space so unique; I am learning to be my most productive self during work hours, while enjoying every opportunity to explore when I am not working. This is time management at its finest!
